Welcome to The Niche E-Commerce Project 2 Update

I didn’t have the chance to update this niche e-commerce project 2, over the past 5 months and last year  things really turn quite well. This is what actually happened over the past 18 months.

Basically, this site is almost the same as the niche e-commerce project one except that it can be targeted at a global market. This project is a joint partnership with the business owners; we came into play when management decided to go full speed in setting up the e-commerce site.

We handled everything online and our JV partner will take care of the fulfilment. We will take 15% of the overall profit which includes offline sales as well. As this included branding in terms of marketing online, it would reasonable for us to take a certain percentage of the offline sales too.

We build everything almost from scratch since there is not much existing data collected and we have taken this chance to rebrand the new e-commerce site.

We built the following:-

  • A new e-commerce site using the existing domain
  • A new branding strategy
  • A new content marketing strategy
  • Changed all the images, models, product images, etc.
  • Set up affiliate system
  • Set up online funnels

So in 2015, basically the new setup was just to collect the following data

  • Traffic sources
  • Customers buying behavior
  • Email lists
  • Facebook and Instagram followers
  • Best-selling products

Most of the keywords are still holding very strong after 18 months.

I use a combination of Facebook ads and SEO for traffic generation. For the Facebook ads, I am applying what I learned from the internet marketing course last year. Indeed the course really helped me a lot in terms of running Facebook ads.

Some of the ad strategies and funnels were used as shown below;

Now here are some of the online assets that the project 2 had been increasing for the past few months.

  • Email list of 2,500;a mixture of customers and blog readers
  • Fanpage 13k
  • Instagram 392

All the current online assets are increasing every day.

The Niche E-Commerce Project 2: Sales Revenues

For project 2, currently the e-commerce site is generating almost mid 4 figures every month. I foresee this site’s revenues will only continue to increase every month. We are also going to participate more in local trade shows to increase the brand awareness. I feel that multichannel selling for e-commerce is very importantly.

The Goal and Plans Moving Forward

The goal for the next 3 months is to go into United States marketplace. The idea was to sell in the U.S. using the Amazon FBA program.

Basically, what I think is besides selling in a local market street, as an e-commerce store, we should be looking at the global market too. Using the Amazon FBA program was the first step.
