Every year, I conduct my annual review and share it openly. I actually do this because I find it useful to review my own success and failures of the previous 12 months. I also think is important to hold myself publicly accountable.
In this Annual Review, we will talk about 3 points
2015 was an incredible year for me, but I also failed on several goals. I hope you will find this post useful and interesting for your own business.
What went well this year?
Here is what is happening:
Family. I made my goal for 2015 post on the 30th December 2014. I listed several objectives that I was going to hit by the end of 2015! However, things didn’t turn quite as I had planned. In March 2015, my wife was pregnant with my second daughter, and by the time we knew about this baby, the first trimester had already passed.
My wife decided to quit her job and sacrifice all her social life to become a full-time housewife. We think this is the best decision for the kids in terms of our own parenting.
In October, Carissa Ho came into our world; this is the third best thing that ever happened in my life.
Niche E-Commerce Projects
Both Project 1 & 2 did well, with a combined revenue close to 6 figures. I had a good run with both projects. In 2016, I will be focusing on expanding to other online marketplaces. I believe in expanding other sales channels rather than focusing just on website sales.
Internet Marketing Course
I did my second internet marketing course with an underground internet marketer Eddy Kuah. He used to be one of the top CPA marketers in the world. The course lasted for 2 weeks with a combination of internet marketing and physical training. I have to say I enjoyed the 2 weeks and there was a lot of learning from other marketers.
The site is continuing to grow; the mailing list, followers, and revenue started to grow a lot in 2015.
What didn’t go so well this year?
I did not published good quality blog posts on this blog. In fact, I stopped posting in September 2015 due to time constraints. Some readers even email me to check if I am ok and I thank you for your concern.
Some of the experiments simply continue because I had lost interest. In fact, I also started a few more online projects that I didn’t mention here eventually and I killed it off in December 2015 to focus on those projects that can bring me the most income.
I started too many online projects in 2015. I even lost focus on some of the existing projects due to time constraints. I shouldn’t have started so many and have learned to just focus on expanding existing projects.
I started to notice that my body feels easily tired, so I should start to train myself properly and regain my physical fitness level.
What am I working toward?
For 2016, I will be focusing on my existing niche ecommerce projects and authority site. One of the business models I started to have a lot of interest in is Amazon FBA. It makes a lot of sense to use the Amazon FBA program to expand one of my niche ecommerce sites and start selling in the USA.
However, I am still learning about Amazon FBA but I will share this quote with you from John Lee Dumas
Follow One Course Until You Are Successful
Another thing that I am working toward is my physical fitness; my goal is to exercise daily and to keep fit. I haven’t had any particular training in mind but I am working toward it.
2015 was a remarkable year for me and I can’t wait to see what will happen in 2016. I am excited to share my 2016 journey in the next couple of posts. Thank you for reading.
